Oh and p.s. More guns doesn't necessarily mean more crime. Tough guy from da hood might think twice if he knew the average Joe was "packing" too. Know what I'm sayin yo? Word

Like I said guns aren't a issue for me everyone walking around with a loaded pistol in their pocket or purse is. Seems like a recipe for disaster the odds are higher of getting shot by you own gun or shooting a family member than ever needing it to protect yourself.

Fuck it i'll humour you guys and go with your argument then.
Canada 30 guns per 100 people Switzerland 47 guns per 100 people
Yet canadas crime rate is higher. What happened to more guns = more crime?
How about poland? 1 gun per 100 people yet their homicide rate is higher than UK, Israel, Spain, Slovenia, Austria, Greeze, Switzerland, New Zealand, Sweden and France, yet all these countries have a substantial amount of guns MORE than Poland?
The whole theory that more guns = more crime is horse shit.

If that's the case go ahead and convince the police that they should put their firearms down because they're less safe with them. Then do the same for armored truck drivers, people working in parts of the country where animals are a threat to their life, as well as armed personal security guards for politicians and rich folk.

I support a situation like Switzerland has why are you against it? Strict laws on transportation and the ability to carry a gun if you can prove you need it like a security guard or a armored car driver

So a security guard's life is more valuable than mine? Why am i not given the same right as the high school dropout driving around with a stash of money?
I'll say it. Those idiots like that thug wannabe types who get caught with illegal firearms should get life or something really severe. Maybe that would help with some of the issue. The main issue I see from the middle is stupid people with guns, not the guns themselves.

You brought up Switzerland as a gun utopia now you are arguing for something different? Unless you are driving around with tens of thousands of dollars in you car and a sign on the side letting the world know I would think your chances of being robbed are less than that of a brinks truck. The guns aren't to protect the lives of the drivers they are to protect the money. The driver's would be safer without guns in a robbery, I would think you are far more likely to get shot if you are holding a gun, without it they are just going to take the money.

So i guess cops would be safer without guns as well then?

Possibility but also less effective \ intimidating the gun isn't protecting the cop but making it easier for him to be intimidating and seem in control of a situation. The reason policing works is the fear factor and a gun helps achieve that.

Alrighty then...i'll just let myself out of this thread...
Here's one Paul. I'm very neutral on the subject but look at the lady in Walmart. Having a gun made her "safe" yet her own 2 year old shot her and she died. If she didn't have one to feel safe it wouldn't have happened.
From what I can see, seems you guys are mixing 2 issues. Gun ownership and c+c. If all the examples given are fact: The Swiss have more guns but they are at home under lock and key. Their c+c+ is the same as ours, so their potential for crimes by handgun should be the same. What's the stats of shootings in homes?
