Another interesting thought is that a gun in use far more often in robberies in the US and that makes sense if you are going to rob someone with a gun you better bring one. If you are robbing a house and think the homeowner is going to be armed you would be far more likely to shoot.

Everything you said is false. If it were true and simply the presence of guns increases gun violence how do you explain switzerland? 45.7 guns per 100 citizens yet 1/7th the gun violence? Usa has 90 guns per 100 citizens, therefore by using your logic shouldn't switzerland have half the gun violence than the usa? Yet it doesn't...

Canada btw has 30 firearms per 100 citizens.

But don't compare one country to another, compare a whole handful of them and see what happens.

Wtf? You say 10% of everyone that way you get to skip over the point that the real difference is WHO carries the gun rather IF someone is carrying one.

In order to get concealed carry you would have to be a law abiding citizen in canada and go through the appropriate background checks. This would mean that you are NOT a criminal. How can you overlook this and just put a blanket saying "10% of everyone".

Do you have the statistics on the amount of handguns in the possession of criminals in canada? how about law abiding firearm owners?

And how do you know that when a cop gets shot his firearm isn't stolen?
