Nice try. I think if the current laws were applied evenly they might be happy. FWIU, it's the restriction of those laws to small groups that is at issue.

In order to see if I'm being as you say illogical and spouting rhetoric I had my girlfriend who is in your boat, anti c/c but not necessarily anti gun read the thread. She doesn't understand why you won't answer facts with facts you say you can get. I'm a firm believer in the scientific method. You show me yours. I've shown you mine. Shit if you can prove licensed gun owners should not be given the CHANCE to get a c/c permit due to incidences of violence increasing I'll turn in my RPAL.
There will not be "more weapons" there will not be "drunks packing heat" there will not be "crazies with guns". The same people that passed a criminal records check, interview and had references in good standing contacted would be the same people with the CHANCE to take additional training to c/c. That's what you don't understand. No one is saying amend gun laws so you can buy a glock at wal mart.
Honestly given the chance I would probably not c/c in my every day life, but I'd like the opportunity to. We don't have a second amendment saying owning guns is a right or duty of the people, but I do have a right to safety and security of myself.
You sound reasonable.
lets start off very specific.
Are you unhappy with the current laws regarding C&C ? dumb it down, you want it easier to get as gun,
yes or no. Yetti is busy for a bit, but lets continue
I am unhappy with the current c/c laws, yes. I do not want it to be easier for Joe Public to get a gun, the current licensing system in and of itself is reasonable, the current firearms act and it's widely open to interpretation allowance for "carry to protect life" are not.
