I would debate you yetti, but I think this comes down to neither of us knowing the answer unless it happens.
I think that having armed citizens would prevent more deaths than it would cause, you think the opposite would happen.
We can look at stats all day long from other countries, but at the end of the day we are not exactly the same as USA or Switzerland, or any other example we can think of, so unless we tried an experiment, like make Regina or Winnipeg open for concealed carry and monitor the crime rate, I don't think either of us can conclusively give an answer.

you want more freedom with C&C, correct ? Yeti likes it the way it is..
we can still debate.
And the way it currently stands in canada you can't get it. And not because our laws wont allow it, but because the chief firearm officers won't sign off on it for average citizens. Politicians on the other hand? No problem... So much for freedom and equality.
Yetti not gonna go all crazy and look for stats and stuff, But he remembers reading that theres only something like under 300 C&C permits curently in Canada.
you want equality ? tell the 300 to give up their C&C now everyone is equal.

lol
I guess we should disarm the cops too to make it really equal

Ok. if that what you think, lets try this out. just pretend toronto is America
now lets imagine that 10% more people start carrying a gun.
You dont think there would be more shootings in toronto ?
That's not a fair question unless you specify WHO these people are.
10% more firearms in the hands of police officers? Most likely wouldn't be more shootings. 10% more firearms in the hands of law abiding firearm owners? Once again most likely wouldn't be more shootings
10% more in the hands of criminals? Most likely you'd have MORE shootings.
This isn't complicated its common sense. Yet you try to overlook WHO has the firearms and simply try to put the blame on the firearm like somehow it has the ability to load itself, point itself at an individual and keep shooting until someone dies.
this is a common sense issue. more people carrying guns, its an absolute fact, that there will be more shootings
gun control isnt for you, ( the gun guys ) its for the rest of society. its to make the rest of society feel safer.
what happens if the person who is carrying a concealed weapon dies, or loses it. then what ? now we have another illegal gun on the streets. say you leave it in your car, car gets stolen. another gun missing
remember, not everyone out there will be as militant as you with your guns and gun safety.
its THOSE people that we dont want having guns. and just like we do with children, to make everything fair, either you all get one, or none of you get one.
