The president fired the government lobbiest (Shawn Bevins).
The rest of the directors said that was out of line as one needs 2/3rd majority to remove a director so they fired the president.
The president threw a hissy fit and fired the directors that opposed him.
The president went ban happy on the NFA facebook page banning everyone who had anything negative to say.
Blair Hagen went nuts on the CGN NFA page and deleted every negative post related to the NFA.
The ousted directors started a new facebook page for the NFA.
I'm not sure where we are at this morning... haven't looked into it yet. With behaviour like a bunch of kids though, I doubt I will ever consider supporting the NFA again.

It has really become a sad state of affairs, and I can't imagine how anyone would want to donate or become a member now, as no doubt the money will just be going to a lawyer.
The following is from the Alberta NFA Director, Erika Clarke, and posted on CGN... and then deleted by the NFA Vice-President and former president, Blair Hagan:

We did not vote to remove him from the board, just replace the figurehead of the organization, as it was time for a change for many reasons. That did not require 2/3 of the entire board and therefore the quorum was valid.
He simply did not accept the position and banned all of the directors who voted to removed him and announced that we were removed from the board. Later on, he backtracked. Then he began banning literally hundreds of members of the organization from the FB. And Mr. O'Grady (after posting his wish for Sheldon to resign) tried to renew his membership and was refunded saying his membership was 'under review'.
The members are the lifeblood of the NFA and deserve transparency and a voice. They're not getting it. They deserve better.
We did not want to fight this in court, as we pay out of pocket while Sheldon gets to use NFA funds. We do not want to use the members money in such an inappropriate manner, but it's gotten insane at this point.
Please just know that the NFA and its members are my entire life. They mean everything to me and I will never stop fighting for them. I don't do this for myself, I do it for gun owners. I want the NFA to be a strong, transparent organization that fights for the rights of gun owners and that's that. It's salvageable and worth fighting for.

They probably thought "he's just a security guard" and forgot or didn't notice the ARMED part. Funny how every article stressed that the gun was LEGAL.
Now the comments from relations are the deceased were horsing around and the guard over reacted...and his hand injury was self inflicted gun shot injury.

Seems to me like the victims family is out to lunch...
"The 25-year-old man killed at an east-end McDonald’s early Saturday morning was the loving father of a young boy, liked playing baseball and got into the “odd fight,” according to his uncle.
Joe Bourdignontold the Star his nephew, identified by his sister as Donny Ouimette, was one of two men fatally shot at the fast-food restaurant on Danforth Ave. near Coxwell Ave., early Saturday morning.
Police say there was a “fairly significant physical confrontation” between a male security guard and two men inside the restaurant at about 3 a.m. The security guard allegedly fired “multiple shots” and the men died on the scene, said Det. Sgt. Terry Browne.
“I miss him. Terrible thing,” Bourdignon said in a phone interview after learning of his nephew’s death.
Bourdignon said Ouimette had a 4-year-old son, nicknamed Donny Junior, whom he loved. The boy currently lives with Ouimette’s ex-girlfriend, he said.
On Saturday afternoon, two police cruisers sat parked at the two entrances to the McDonald’s. Yellow police tape surrounded the property and brown paper was plastered over the glass entrance doors.
“[The case is] very unusual, very complex and very complicated,” Det. Sgt. Terry Browne, told reporters at a news conference Saturday morning.
Officers are reviewing security camera footage as they investigate what led up to the shooting. Police did not release the identities of the victims, who include a 40-year-old man and Ouimette, according to his family.
Donny Ouimette, who grew up in Toronto’s east end, had lost his own father to cancer six years ago, his sister said.
“Once my dad was gone, he changed a lot. He wasn’t the same,” said Donna Bourdignon, 49. “He started drinking. He never drank.”
Donna said police confirmed to her that Donny was the man killed in the McDonald’s.
She worries about what will happen to Donny’s son, who her brother loved to spend time with and treated to baseball and hockey games.
“That little boy loved his daddy to death. That’s what hurts me the most,” she said, choking back tears. “Donny was a good daddy.”
Donna said she last saw her brother several weeks ago and he seemed “fine,” she said. She didn’t know if he had a job.
Family members told her Ouimette knew the 40-year-old man who was also killed, though she did not know his name.
Donna said she feels “numb” and wants the person responsible for her brother’s death charged. “It doesn’t matter what was going on… that should not have happened,” she said of the killing.
The security guard involved in the shooting, who is cooperating with police, was taken to hospital with a hand injury and has not been arrested, Browne said. The guard worked nearby and had stopped at the restaurant for food.
Toronto lawyer Craig Penney, who wrote in an email to the Star that he was representing the unnamed security guard, said he had been released from the hospital, “and is grateful to be recovering from his injuries.”
“He is appreciative of the way in which the police are dealing with the matter, and is thankful to his Company for supporting him,” Penney wrote, adding that the firearm involved was “lawfully possessed.”
Penney did not immediately respond to the Star’s requests for further information.
At the time of the incident, Browne said, there were six to eight employees and eight to 10 customers in the restaurant. The altercation occurred at the customer line-up area, he said.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Homicide Squad at 416-808-7400, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477.
The double fatality was part of a violent day in Toronto.
Three people were stabbed in two incidents early Saturday, one at Tryst Nightclub on Peter St. downtown, where paramedics were called to tend to two men with serious injuries at 2:22 a.m., and another with minor cuts to his face in the area of Lawrence ave. E. and Port Union Rd. at 2:48 a.m.
In the early afternoon, two men were sent to a local trauma centre with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds after an incident in the area of Warden Ave. and Cataraqui Cres. "
Really it doesn't matter what happened? What planet are these people living on? If they started a fight with an armed guard what were they expecting? What was he supposed to think? Oh they're just playin? Some people...

I read somewhere the one idiot went for the guards gun while the guard was fighting with the other idiot. If that proves true then all I would say is that's what happens when you're stupid.
