Correct... The 3 guns that everybody and their grandmother makes accessories and performance upgrades for:
1) AR-15 2) 1911 3) Ruger 10/22
Honorable mentions go out to:
-Remington 700 - Great precision platform, but those parts can easily add up to $5000-10000, so I guess it's like the Suzuki of precision rifles -AK - Also a HUGE aftermarket but they are prohibited in Canada, so I kept it off my list
Uggghhhhh I'm glad I tested my setup before attempting to shoot a match with it lol Was getting about 25% light strikes. Will need to go with stiffer springs. Hopefully I'll have the time to re-test before the match on Saturday.
Special request... The Irish wanna introduce more idiotic and draconian restrictions on sport shooters, for no good reason. Here's the link to the petition. Sign it. Once you get a confirmation e-mail (doesn't seem to be instant), make sure to confirm. Preferably give a generic webmail address and not something ending with ".ca" .
This website was established to disseminate information to the members of the constituent associations concerning the latest proposals of the Gardai and the Department of Justice and Equality to further restrict possession of firearms for sporting purposes without justification. A large campaign has been launched to fight these very unjust proposals and the website will be the focal point for all our supporters. It is a “one-stop-shop” for information, updates, commentary and direction to member associations, clubs, individuals, supporters and politicians and will assist everyone in helping to oppose these most unreasonable proposals. The site will be updated regularly and we will post the latest information as it arises.
Traditionally, they used to do it with live rounds (well mostly shot, so no danger under any circumstances), but then communism fell, democracy came and gun laws got tight. Otherwise, they used to celebrate weddings, graduations, religious holidays and army sendoffs this way. For the wedding, the groom had to shoot an apple of a quince off a pole to prove that he's man enough to protect the family. The groom would typically be pretty sloshed by the time he had to shoot but I'm not aware of any wedding incidents involving injuries stemming from that practice.
Just wanted to give those of you interested in action shooting the heads up that there will be a 2gun (pistol and carbine) match at Urban Tactican on Jan 24th. No holster cert required as the guns will be pre-staged. No divisions, so any equipment will work as long as you have a mag-fed semiauto carbine and a pistol. The fee is $40+HST.
If you are new to action shooting, here are some tips:
1) Don't race. You will be among the last. It doesn't matter. We've all been there. Your #1 priority is to be safe, your #2 priority is to have fun. Winning comes to those with the right combination of talent, skills and experience. Won't be me lol 2) AAAAAAAAAAALWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY mind your muzzle direction. For most matches, you can't break 90 degrees from straight downrange. Some clubs are at 45 degrees. Focus on that 3) Keep the trigger finger outside the trigger guard unless you are actively engaging targets - so when you're on the move or changing mags, finger goes up until you got the next target in sight
Safety is your #1 priority. Speed comes naturally with practice. Just focus on being SAFE and smooth.
Female College Student Pulls Gun on Home Invaders and Rescues Her Boyfriend A quick acting University of Central Florida student was able to send a pair of armed home invaders running from her apartment.
Two men forced their way into the apartment which is shared by a boyfriend and girlfriend, identified as Nour Skargee and Sable Nehme.
Skargee was thrown to the floor and held at gunpoint. He yelled for Nehme, who was in a bedroom, to grab the gun. She did just that. According to local media reports:
I quickly closed my door and locked it to get some extra time to get the gun,” Nehme said. “He immediately, when he saw the gun, turned right back around, darted out and both of them fled the apartment.”

11 Year Old Uses Shotgun To Defend Against Home Invader - See more at: gunsnfreedom.com/11-year-old-uses-shotgun-to-defend-against-home-invader An 11-year-old girl was able to scare off a suspect — later taken into custody — during a home invasion in Lapeer County’s North Branch Township.
Deputies from the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department responded around 3:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 to a Five Lakes Road home where the girl was home alone when a vehicle pulled into the driveway.
A Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office news release states one person knocked on all the doors and forced their way inside the home when there was no response. The girl locked herself inside a bathroom closet with a shotgun.
The suspect eventually opened the bathroom door and closet where the child was hiding with the weapon. The girl aimed the shotgun at the suspect, whom then fled from the home.
Children should not be taught safe firearm handling or what to do in case of an emergency. Teaching children that results in reduced income for those poor souls just trying to gather capital to turn their lives around via wealth-redistribution and human resource distribution
My Mona Lisa AR15.22 build is finally ready to be revealed! Will be my IPSC Mini-Rifle Open gun. NEA lower, generic LPK, Hogue beavertail, Geissele s3g, Ace Skeleton stock, CMMG 22LR upper, Miculek comp (really just for the looks), Leupold Deltapoint and Troy Alpha in 15".
She will be shot at 100yds or less, so I didn't feel the need for magnified optics, just a quick 3.5MOA dot. Need a crush washer to properly mount the comp since the CMMG 22lr upper doesn't have enough meat to accommodate the thick locknut that comes with the Miculek comp, now I just gotta do function-testing with the trigger.
Thanks guys... Well, this platform will allow me to shoot long gun matches for the next couple of years and still maintain being used to the AR ergonomics. I love how light she is.. 5lbs on the dot!
