Think its time for one, an incident couple of months ago would have cost me a fortune had it not been for a witness that stuck around. Im not leaving anything like this to chance in the future anymore, need a dashcam but dunno what to get. Don't wanna spend a fortune but don't want something thats garbage. Also needs to be a reasonable size so i can make a clean install without it being an eye sore?
I've thought about having one on the bike something small nest and hidden that does great video. Since gopro is too big it's left me with wanting a contour +2. The company went under but I've read are back at it. They can be had for a lot less than a gopro and have similar video quality. Their size being the bonus for me.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I ended up getting 2 of these www.blackboxmycar.com/pages/g1w-dashcam-review, they should be here tomorrow so i'll post an update once its all installed.
Stevie t a woman ran a red light and ran into my wife's car. Had there not been a witness that stuck around my wife would have been at fault. Next time we might not be so lucky with someone sticking around and im not paying for someone else's fuckup.
Well i was planning to install them this weekend but its just my luck that the shipping got delayed. Hopefully they make it to my door in one piece next week...

Alright they finally arrived today. I got two of these and right out of the box one of the chargers didn't work lol. Got 2 different mounts for some reason although they're both identical cameras. They appear to be real g1w and not the fakes. I put a 32gb card in there and tried it out during the day. Pretty good video quality. At night the video isn't the best, but for 65 bucks i didn't exactly expect much.
The bracket that holds the camera is flimsy as shit, everything moves around. Hopefully they last and i'll never need them....

I have the G1W as well, and I ended up making a custom mount using a rubberized hose clamp like below to mount it straight to the arm of my rear view mirror. I also remember using part of a cheap camera tripod that I had lying around.
It seems to work well.

Nice, i was thinking of just putting superglue on the bracket that came with it and stick it on there for good...
I have another problem however, in my suv the cigarette lighter comes on and off as does the ignition, but in my truck it stays on 24/7.

Also gpscity has them I think... or rammount.ca.
I looked at the one I made, and I just semi-dismantled the mount that came with the camera and attached that rubber hose mount. I can try to take a pic if you like.
Anyway, if you already bought that one then I guess you will be sorted.
