Common sense prevails here.. workmates dying from gunfire.. GTFO! RUN ! FLEE !

dont go running towards the gunfire,, GTFO ! if you dont see them, you arent in danger.


Not sure of all this, But yetti would imagine if you were taking a Handgun C&C test. you would be told to never take out your gun unless your life was in danger. If you have to go looking for the bad guy, you are not in danger.

and here lies the root problem, and when you decide to switch your arguments.

First you say that you would only ever use your gun for personal protection, and now you are  jumping into action  trying to help.   Your intentions may be solid, but all you are is just another person with a gun ( which may be separated from you ) and used to kill more people.

didnt you say you wanted a gun to protect yourself ?.

well, if you have to go looking for the people shooting, your life isnt in danger. and your job isnt to save everyone is it ? if that were the case, you'd be a cop or something.

I know that makes it sound bad, even though YOUR intentions are good, that doesnt mean EVERYONE ELSE's intentions would be.

in terms of ease, Its easier to remove the handguns, than to regulate the people owning them.

This seems to be the fundamental problem here, so lets go over it again..

you said you wanted to carry a handgun for PERSONAL protection. But now that you have one, You feel the need to PROTECT others.

So what is it, BOTH ?       do you want to Self-regulate the streets ?

we have People that Protect the Public from Criminals. they are called Police Officers. 

The Difference between YOU and a Police Officer is that a Police Officer Has a badge, AND the Public's trust. ( dont laugh ) lol

Just becasue YOU have solid intentions doesnt mean EVERYONE will be like you.



think of the public as a roomfull of children.  you have 30 children in a room.    some can be trusted, they are good kids.  Some are bad kids and cant be trusted.


Leave a pile of toys or candy, or whatever you like in the middle of the room. Tell everyone to Behave and walk out the room.  what do you think will happen ?

the good kids wont touch the goodies, and the bad kids will


solution ?    remove the goodies.   the good kids wont miss it, they didnt care anyways. the bad kids dont get the oppotunity to be bad.

Yetti understands what you are saying, but its impossible to regulate these " armed civilians "

who's to say Joe.45 doesnt suit up every night and go policing the streets ?

Imagine some yahoo questioning innocent people in the street, becasue he feels the need to have his questions answered, Becasue he has a gun ( just like some cops do now )

Yetti , you are missing the point that the criminals will always get guns. Unless you completely remove them from existence....which will never happen. In your candy scenario, the candy gets put in a cupboard so no one can have them. The bad kids will pick the lock.

The point with c+c, is that you have to go through hoops to be allowed to carry. Maybe not as much as a cop, but enough. It's like comparing a street rider to a pro racer. Both can ride the track, but one can do a lot better. Doesn't mean they both aren't allowed on the track.

Ok. A private individual can carry a gun on the street as much as a cop. You do realize that statement agrees with c+c. Difference being an individual probably can't pursue someone like a cop can. Though we do have citizen's arrest etc.

Or do you mean the regular rider and the racer are both allowed on the street?
