Pretty straight forward to me. Didn't comply with order to leave, resisted and pulled a gun, firing first. Justified shooting by the cops.
As to why he pulled a gun... In an emotional state about his kid, dealing with issues of an ex-wife, he may not be thinking straight. End result was a bad decision resulting in death. Race has nothing to do with this.

He was really packing heat too! He was wearing an extra mag. He had ammo in his backpack & in his car. For all we know he probably wanted to shoot up the school.

Wait...that changes things. I can see concealed carry and emotions getting the best of you, but unless he was going to the range or just back from the gun store, all that extra ammo changes what I think his intentions were. Gotta get the whole story.

He was a concealed carry instructor... Throw in a divorce, custody for kids and you've got a shit situation where he got killed in front of his own kid. WTF was he thinking, there is no scenario where you pull a gun on a cop and it ends well
