Need a new camera and really don't feel like spending hours researching em. I know some of you know your shit so recommend me a camera thats not a fortune and is pretty decent. Dont wanna spend more than 5-600$ if possible...
What nfq said. There's a lot of variables. I'm a nikon fan personally. I know henry's has a refurb d5100 with the 18-55 on right now for the price you want to spend. That said if you want to shoot anything involving distance you'd need a second lens.
I shot this with a 55-200 from quite a distance away. This lens is nothing to write home about but it gets the job done for under 300 bucks.
Depending on what you want out of a camera, if lenses and dslr is it this isn't a bad kit to get you started although it's slightly more than you wanted to spend
well, what do you know how to use? (I don't wanna sound like a d_ _ k, genuine question)
point and shoot? something with interchangeable lenses? do you want new? used? Do you want portability? does it have to be waterproof or resistant?
I just want to be able to take some nice pictures... New Don't care about waterproof Don't know if i need interchangeable lenses
The best thing you can do to help you take nice pictures, is learn how to take nice pictures. Henry's offers a nice beginner program into the world of photography. They'll teach you things like what aperture and white balance mean, fstops, setting and framing your shots, understanding light balance, etc.
just like we tell people 'It's the rider not the bike', it's the guy holding the camera, not the camera, that make pictures look good.
Maybe split your money into taking a course and buying a cheaper ($200-$350) camera would be better?
"There's never enough time to do it right, but there's always enough time to do it twice."
A smart phone wouldn't take pics like what I posted above. Not even close. They're exponentially better than they used to be but you still can't beat a genuine camera.
Paul this might be good for what you want. One day sale only
