They have better legal protection for property that you already own. So, whenever the politicians talk about banning this or banning that, the Americans stock up on the item so they can be grandfathered in. In Canada, we very weak property rights so the government can just come in and take whatever they van from you. They don't even have to compensate you for it. Your legal recourse for that is to take the following item.... ....and pound it up your "you know where"

Right now the focus is on terrorism and safety and all that other shit. Meanwhile, the economic gap between living wage and cost of living is getting bigger and bigger. Americans won't fight over guns or Muslims, etc. But when that event happens, that fucks the economy to the point they have to choose between food and more ammo, that's when they'll start kicking down the doors of the powers that be, and shit will change.
