Well, how about not having a Marketing grad as your head of IT. Also, with shit being exposed and breaking several times over the years they'd take the threats seriously. Nope. Business decided it's an acceptable risk. Whoops.

People don't have a clue how susceptible shit is, especially the higher up a corporate food chain you go.

Nobody is beefing up anything. Unless it's financial, legal or pharmaceutical, it isn't in the budget unless they luck out automagically.

Not saying they're all perfect, but this was all ridiculously preventable.
