The only way my wage has changed, is when I changed jobs/companies.
The new normal is to work 2-5 years at one place, then move on to bigger and better. Otherwise you get 'stuck'. This is mostly the perspective of Office Space type jobs.
Construction wages haven't moved much in the last decade, combined with battling increased material costs, has made it harder and harder to get good work. Exceptions: Union work.

Couple places i have worked increased my wage ever so slightly. Last shit hole i worked at for 2.5 years actually tried to cut my pay while increasing my workload and hours...i no longer work for them.
But in general there are good and bad places in my industry like every other. Some places scrape the bottom of the barrel while others actually increase wages.
On a side not i'd love to see the actual inflation numbers for this country without the creative calculations...
