The prisoner one part of me says no, but then part of me says yes.
On one end i'd say make the prisoner serve out their sentence and pay for their crime, but on the other end if they wanna go and end their own life who am i to object. Plus its like 100K a year to keep a prisoner in jail, not to be a dick but i'd rather see that money go towards a good cause.

Also I don't think killing yourself is necessarily the easy way out...

This is a tricky one for me. I'm all about social liberty and your life is your life so assisted suicide is something I don't think the average joe can weigh in on.

In the case of terminal or chronic illness I'm completely for it. For the average person including the prisoner example I dunno.

What are the criteria?

Also, who decides?
The kids? You when you're senile or suffering dementia?

I think similar to a DNR, they need to make a proper outline of when it's allowable.

That's what im saying, offset some of that 100k it takes to take care of them...

Prisoner...kinda divided too. If a serious violent one and no chance of parole or rehabilitation and no ability to contribute, then maybe it's good to save tax $.

"Suicide was decriminalized in Canada in 1972; someone who now attempts suicide is not liable to sanction under the Criminal Code. A peace officer or a physician may order involuntary detention of any person judged to be a danger to himself or herself."
