I rode behind omnivore at Deals Gap and tried to keep pace with him. He was long gone while I low sided in a hairpin turn.
Newbie mistake... Trying to keep up with experienced riders.
I've been guilty too
If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing. -Malcolm X
If Fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of Liberalism. -Ronald Reagan
If you dont push your limits then youll never get past them
While I agree with you, it seems that lately people don't understand time and a place. Between that and the whole fuck the police attitude there's nothing but bad things that will come out of it.
For me last summer I was heading back home from Wasaga Beach in a fairly big group ride, as we were passing cars on the highway 1 guy slows down in front of me to look at the blocker to the right of him, while I was right behind him I slowed down to avoid hitting him...idiotic move on his part but it is what it is....meanwhile there was a car coming towards us & I had no room to move to the right so...I did a last second ditch to avoid getting splattered by the on coming car & put the bike on the gravel to my left but I did manage to keep it up & get back on the pavement all in one piece!
I guess that the dumbest shit I have ever done is going on big group rides...never again!

Ahhh group rides with strangers lol
I stopped going to those a long time ago, seems everyone is out to prove how awesome of a rider they are while not even knowing the basics.

I guess it depends on the group, but I had similar experience with a group that liked to wobble slowly in corners then slingshot on the straight bits. A the stop after some discussion I realized they thought that is how to ride a bike, meanwhile some guy on a loaded up Concours passed and pulled away from them all in the twisty bits.
How many of us have had a mysterious stalling-in-first issue?
I saw a poor guy last summer on a Multistrada struggle with this for ten minutes before I showed his sidestand was down.
I recommend that everyone crash at least once, after years of ridding without crashing you start feeling invincible and then is when the bad stuff happens. I have been lucky to only crash on track a few times and not on the street, but since then my 'spirited' street riding has calmed down by 80%.
This does not feel good, Imagine doing it at an intersection? Make sure volume is full on for the full effect
