Alright kids, I have a couple invites to get rid of before they go poof. Please only ask for them if you're actually gonna use and contribute to the site.
Notes:
- You must log in on a regular basis to avoid being suspended - You must keep a share ratio above 0.9 - Donating is never mandatory, but it will get you lots of upload credit and some other privileges
One tip to avoid n00b mistakes that I made starting out (thanks F and M)... The first thing you do upon joining is to download 5 "freeleech" smaller files, no matter what they are and just keep your torrent client open seeding them non-stop. Usually it's hard to get your ratio up by just uploading because everybody is STRONGLY encouraged to seed. You get bonus points for the length of time you seed each file, so let's say you seed 5 files for an hour, you get 5 points even if you don't actually send any data.

Better privacy, verified content, fast downloads as seeding is STRONGLY encouraged by private trackers. I only use KAT/PB for older and/or international content. Anything reasonably fresh only via private trackers.

I use certain private trackers due to the content and speed of download.
Many times that I wanted an older show or movie from KAT or piratebay, even if it says there are 50+ seeders, still the download doesn't move worth a crap. On a private tracker, even if there is one seeded often you can download with some speed as they don't throttle their uploads as much.
Private trackers are also like a community. If I see only one person is sharing a video I want, I have PM'd them and asked them to raise their upload limit so I can get a copy, and they comply.
Most of all though, it is for content. I am on a TV show tracker called BTN where I have no problem getting entire series for just about any show you can think of.
On PTP you can get pretty much any movie you have every heard of, and if it isn't there, put up a request and you will get it. I've got probably about 30 old concert/music videos from PTP that are very rare... rare Band stuff like Festival Express, old Blues stuff like rare Howlin Wolf concerts, etc...
Then there are the music sites... a site like What has all the albums. No problem downloading an entire discography of an artist, and very easy to find and navigate the artists.
The thing is though, there is much more work with a private tracker. You have to understand how to build a ratio and you have to leave a computer on pretty much 100% of the time or have to be very patient. I've built awesome ratios everywhere I belong so I can pretty much download whatever I want whenever I want, but it took about two or three years to get into that position. For me, it is another hobby, so if you don't want to pay attention to such things, you are better off just sticking with KAT.

Or making a yearly donation of around $25 during a promotion which will often get you hundreds of GB of upload credit

Yeah, some give upload for donations, other don't. Anyway, I was just trying to impress that a private tracker has benefits but also responsibilities.
When I first got into a private tracker about 6 years ago I didn't take the responsibilities seriously and got booted out... and I'm sure the person who invited me likely heard about it too.

Yeah that's a common theme among the different trackers, you invite someone who leeches you get some shit from the mods/admin
