When you have a sport as boring as baseball you have to find something to talk about. UFC no one really cares, its a bunch of guys beating the crap out of each other, so who really cares what they do.
It's the image it portrays to its audience. A lot of people already don't like the ufc so you can't have them all juiced up and kicking the crap out of each other. Sends a bad message to the younger generations. It's the same in any sport. Despite I personally don't think weed did anything to help I can see why it's all banned.
