If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, it might be worth the drive to quebec to load up on beer at costco. We did that for a cousins wedding years ago, made a weekend of it in Montreal. Had a blast and remembered to bring back copious amounts of booze as well.
If you're renting a place where you'll serve it, the bylaw's state that only ontario purchased liquor/beer can be served, however that's dependent on how stringently the establishment enforces that.

my parents have lived there for 35 years. takes all day to cut the whole place on a riding mower. growing up I can kind of remember the days where I couldn't walk at the end of the day because of all the beer it takes to cut that grass...lol
