"Twain Thomas was sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday for the February attempted murder. Neighbor James Cvengros said he set up a video camera when he heard the 54-year-old scream in the complex hallway. Moments later, Thomas burst chopped through the door and swung his machete, forcing Cvengros to shoot the intruder, he said."
around 3:10 man 1- you killed me ! man 2 - what ? you were trying to kill me ! man 1- yeah, thats right. man 2- well then. i guess i did the right thing.
I thought it may have been staged as well but apparently not. I guess they figured it was bound to happen so the video cam was just insurance, so to speak.

So, if it happened in Canada, would he have been charged with improper storage? ....or worse?
you shouldnt assume ! LOL
that guy maybe did have his gun stored properly.. but it was USA, so doubt it.
the gun was there, he used it as a last resort. a perfect case for gun ownership. but no need for C&C hehe
I'm still waiting for a response in the other thread. Don't throw kindling in the fire if you won't sit around it.
And yes, the Crown attorneys have proven time and again they'll charge gun owners with storage offences when self defence rules them out of anything more. Ian Thompson.

as far as the other thread was concerned, there was just way too much going on, from more than one person, and No- muli-quote system, it was just too much hassle to dig out proof and point of flaws. in a nutshell, im just way too lazy right now.
As far as the crown charging people in instances like this..
There are laws we have in place here, and they seem good. If you have a gun that is properly stored and everything is legal, you should never have a problem. Dude had plenty of time to set up a camera, lock the door, grab his gun and prepare
( now for shits n giggles one could say that with all the time he had to do that, He could have called the cops and Left the scene, or gotten the gf out, or anything other than what happened )
that being said, Dude did everythign right.
nowthe crown comes in. did you have it stored properly ? was the ammo stored properly .. all these things must be checked. these are the rules for owning and storing your Gun. If you don not follow these rules, you should be charged.
when a Gun owner gets charged for stuff like that, it shows us exactly why these rules are in place.

Yetti, once again, you don't have a clue.
Take the case of Mike Hargreaves for example... the guy had a 700kg safe and it took thieves two days to break into it, yet the police still charged him for unsafe storage. Does that sound at all reasonable to you?
But this is far from the first preposterous safe-storage case. Perhaps the most notorious example of police and Crown overzealousness in enforcing Canada’s existing gun laws is the case of Mike Hargreaves, a former Toronto-area gun-safety instructor and collector. Over the Christmas holidays in 2003, while Mr. Hargreaves was visiting his son in Florida, thieves worked to open the 770 kilogram concrete and steel safe he had had installed in his north Toronto apartment. For nearly two days, burglars used sledgehammers and blowtorches to open the vault, before they could make off with 35 high-powered handguns and rifles worth more than $40,000.
Still, police decided the precautions Mr. Hargreaves had taken to protect his collection were inadequate. They obtained a warrant for his arrest on unsafe storage charges, which forced him to remain in Florida to avoid prosecution.

I really dont give a fuck about all the instances where someone was rightfully or wrongfully charged with improper storage. as a matter of fucking fact, NO_one in this story was charged with anything.
Someone made a remark that if it was canada, He might have been charged. Yetti made a remark that If he was, it would have been just.
You say i dont have a clue. You extreme fucktwat.
maybe i should shove your guns up your ass and see how safe they are. lol
What happened to Hargreaves? It was just stupid for them to even charge him.
I think he was finally acquitted, after how many years and how many dollars though, who knows?
Just like that guy who fired warning shots to scare off the guys throwing molotov cocktails at his house... how can a gun be in storage when it is in use?
