With tons of jet fuel burning & most modern buildings being made of glass & steel, I don't think it's far fetch for the building to come down. Burning of the fuel weaken the steel, add the weight of a passenger jet, the building should fall.

It would take more complex work to have a conspiracy than to just have 2 planes remote controlled into the WTC towers. How easy would it be to set a plane up with gas to knock out or kill the pilots and have it remotely controlled into the towers? A lot easier than setting explosives all inside the towers etc.
